Backwoods by Kettle Ridge opens in Perinton: See the video

Backwoods by Kettle Ridge Farm, a new seasonal outdoor bar and music venue, has opened in Perinton.

The father-and-son team behind the project, Joe and Chris Hurley, spent years transforming a brush-covered 30-acre property into a nature-inspired hangout with trails, fire pits, live music, and family-friendly spaces.

The space includes picnic tables, bistro lights, a kids’ play area, and a stage for live acts.

A converted shipping container serves as a bar pouring beer, cider, wine and canned cocktails, while an outdoor kitchen features an Argentinian-style wood-fired grill. Backwoods opened to an unexpectedly large turnout, with hundreds of guests filling up the 150-car lot and parking along Route 31.

Located at 7215 Pittsford-Palmyra Road, the venue is open Thursday to Saturday evenings through late October. Admission and parking are free.
