Amtrak will be making five daily trips to the annual Great New York State Fair in Syracuse beginning Aug. 20.
Trains will leave from Moynihan Trail Hall in New York City, Toronto and Niagara Falls during the two-week event, which features live music, as well as farming exhibits and competitions at the 375-acre state Fairgrounds.
Tickets went on sale this week.
How to get there
Here’s a schedule of departures:
Admission to the fair, which runs through Sept. 1, is $8 for adults and free for children 12 and under and adults 65 and over.
“Taking the train to the Great New York State Fair is a convenient, affordable way to enjoy the best that New York State has to offer,” Gov. Kathy Hochul said. “From delicious food and live music to rides, games and the best agricultural exhibits anywhere in the state, this year’s Fair truly has something for everybody.”
The fair, founded in 1841, is the oldest in the nation.
