The Orange County Interscholastic Athletic Association recently honored its top senior student-athletes for each high school. James I. O’Neill High School selected C.J. Conkey and Sam Kloepper.

C.J. Conkey
Class rank: 8
Varsity sports: Girls soccer; girls basketball; girls lacrosse
Athletic honors: eleven varsity letters; soccer – four-time Section 9 team champ; section all-star; basketball – team captain, section team finalist, section all-star
Academic honors, extracurricular activities: National Honor Society; student government; Fellowship of Christian Athletes; women’s empowerment club; Student to Student ambassador
Community service: Volunteer coach for Highland Falls recreation basketball, Bear Mountain lacrosse; volunteer for Young Life, Tunnels to Towers foundation, food drive; new student orientations
Future plans: United States Military Academy at West Point, majoring in organizational psychology
Sam Kloepper
Class rank: 2
Varsity sports: Cross country; indoor and outdoor track and field
Athletic honors: Track and field – team captain
Academic honors, extracurricular activities: National Honor Society; student council; reading buddies; Student to Student ambassador
Community service: Scouting America adult volunteer; SAT tutor; running club assistant coach
Future plans: Dartmouth College, participate in Army ROTC
