Here are three observations from the 12th day of Bills training camp:

Cook’s finale

It was a weird one for the James Cook saga as training camp concluded.

Prior to practice, head coach Sean McDermott indicated that Cook was expected to practice… then he did not. It’s unclear what happened with the Pro Bowl running back. The story is certainly a heavily monitored one now.

Starters plan

The plan for the Bills’ starters was also revealed ahead of the team’s preseason opener against the New York Giants on Saturday. Quarterback Josh Allen will not play… but other starters will get in about a quarter’s worth of work.

Kicker likely coming

McDermott also indicated a kicker addition is likely to come before Saturday. Tyler Bass (pelvic) has missed eight-straight workouts and won’t go against the Giants. McDermott said two kickers worked out with the Bills on Thursday, but did not indicate who… but someone needs to kick in the game.
