The Brooklyn Nets are one week away from having to make a decision on who they will be taking with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Brooklyn has been linked to various players over the course of the pre-draft process and while there are more rumors around certain players than others, various mock drafts disagree on who the Nets will ultimately be taking.
In recent articles published by Bleacher Report (Jonathan Wasserman), The Athletic (Sam Vecenie), and ESPN (Jeremy Woo), the Nets taking either Houston guard Kingston Flemings, Illinois guard Keaton Wagler, or Arkansas guard Darius Acuff Jr., respectively. As is the case with most mock drafts, the authors are usually combining their evaluations with conversations they have had with people around the league to determine the most likely outcomes.
To be clear, the particular pieces in question published by Wasserman, Vecenie, and Woo are prospect rankings and not necessarily projections of where the players will land come Jun. 23. However, most mock drafts tend to line up with how good players are as evidenced by the fact that all three authors have the same top-4 of BYU forward AJ Dybantsa, Kansas guard Darryn Peterson, Duke forward Cameron Boozer, and North Carolina forward Caleb Wilson.
With that being said, people like Vecenie have reported that the Nets are expected to take the best player available with the No. 6 pick, meaning that they are likely to take one of the three aforementioned guards. As Nets Wire has mentioned throughout the summer, Brooklyn is likely to select Acuff or Wagler, depending on which one is available following the Los Angeles Clippers’ pick at No. 5.
Every team’s big board is different as they could be looking for different aspects of a player to fulfill and the Nets are no different as they seem to highly value positional size and intangibles based on their 2025 NBA Draft. The way most mock draft see it, the Nets will be taking Acuff with the pick if he’s there and if that’s the case, Brooklyn could have their franchise point guard of the future as soon as next week.
