A 17-year-old boy was stabbed during a physical altercation Thursday night in Sodus, according to New York State Police.
Teen stabbed during altercation
State police responded to the Subway parking lot at 40 W. Main St. in the village of Sodus at about 8:10 p.m. Aug. 6 for a reported stabbing.
Investigators determined that two 17-year-old boys, who had a history of altercations, became involved in a physical confrontation in the parking lot.
During the fight, one of the teens suffered a stab wound to the abdomen.
Victim in stable condition
The injured teen was taken by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment and was listed in stable condition, police said.
The other 17-year-old was identified as a suspect. His parents returned him to the scene after learning police were looking for him, according to state police.
The teen and his parents are cooperating with investigators.
Investigation remains active
The investigation remains active. Because those involved are minors, police said no further identifying information will be released.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office assisted New York State Police with the investigation.
