The Binghamton area is often praised for its food selection, featuring a wide array of cuisines from all over the globe.

Sometimes, however, what you’re really craving is just a good, old-fashioned American classic. When it comes to burgers, barbecue, steak and wings, no one does it better than these 10 restaurants in the Triple Cities.

Whether you’re looking for a great first date spot, some quick takeout or a place to enjoy your favorite comfort meal, these American restaurants have you covered.

Station 45 American Chop House

Station 45 American Chop House brings classic steakhouse vibes to the renovated former Lackawanna Train Station, balancing local history, delicious food and a classy atmosphere. In 2025, Press & Sun-Bulletin readers voted Station 45 the number one steakhouse in the Binghamton area.

Food & Fire

A favorite for large groups, Food & Fire has something for everyone, from local brews to barbecue staples and sandwiches. The restaurant is open daily, meaning you won’t have to wait for a special occasion to enjoy this classic American spot.

Hours: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday-Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday to Saturday.

Old Union Hotel

A cross between a sports bar and a restaurant, Old Union Hotel is well known for having some of the best wings in the Binghamton area. Each Super Bowl Sunday, orders are placed weeks in advance — and if wings aren’t your style, Old Union Hotel offers a wide variety of classic American fare.

Blazin’ Saddles

One of the newest restaurants to make the list, Blazin’ Saddles took Binghamton by storm when it opened ahead of LUMA in 2025. Burgers, wings and fries are the name of the game at this country-inspired restaurant, where live music is a regular occurrence.

Peterson’s Tavern

With a full outdoor seating area, Peterson’s Tavern is the perfect spot to kick back and grab a beer during a sunny day or warm evening. For food, Peterson’s offers all sorts of American classics, from wings, tenders and pretzels to burgers and cheesesteaks.

Courtside Bar & Grill

A favorite for locals and students alike, Courtside Bar & Grill is conveniently located in the middle of downtown Binghamton. Whether for dinner, outdoor brunch or just some drinks and appetizers, Courtside is a great option for American dining downtown.

BIG ZUES Barbecue

Only open two days of the week, BIG ZUES has developed into a downtown Binghamton institution specializing in barbecue meats and delicious sides. When heading to BIG ZUES, earlier is better, since the restaurant often sells out of meats before its closing time.

The Pour House Pub and Grill

With more than 30 beers to choose from, the Pour House has a pairing for any item on their menu, which specializes in “classics with a twist.” Head to Johnson City to try some of the comfort food offered, ranging from burgers, wings and fries to pizza or tacos.

Sach’s Tee House

When heading to Sach’s Tee House, make sure you’ve got cash, as the restaurant does not currently accept card payments. When it comes to food, however, Sach’s has got you covered — subs, quesadillas and burgers are standards, with chicken tenders, subs and clubs finishing out the menu.

The Galley Tavern & Grill

Packed with 15 televisions to make sure you don’t miss a moment of your game, The Galley Tavern & Grill is an American restaurant fused with a sports bar. The Galley has the classics: wings, burgers and fries, but also offers house salads, rice bowls and pizzas.
