During an unofficial visit to Iowa City on Saturday, the Iowa women’s basketball program presented high-ranking 2027 four-star center prospect Addison Medeck with a scholarship offer as the Hawkeyes continue working to build one of the nation’s most promising future recruiting classes.
The 6-foot-3 native of Papillion, Neb., stars for Papillion-La Vista South High School, where she is rated as a four-star and ranks as the No. 37 overall prospect, as the No. 7 center, and as the No. 1 recruit in the state of Nebraska in the 2027 class, per 247Sports.
In addition to Iowa, she holds offers from programs such as Nebraska, Creighton, South Dakota, Marquette, South Dakota State, and Northern Illinois, per Rivals.
According to MaxPreps, Medeck averaged 11.5 points, 9.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 1.0 steals per game last year through 18 contests for Papillion-La Vista South.
While the Hawkeyes are rich with talent at the position, with freshman Layla Hays and sophomore Ava Heiden currently on campus patrolling the paint, Medeck would fit perfectly into Iowa’s succession plan on the inside.
More programs will surely show interest in Medeck as she continues in her recruitment process, but it is vital for the Hawkeyes to get ahead of the growing popularity while the program has upward momentum.
