After capturing the Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl LIX during his first NFL season with the Philadelphia Eagles, former Iowa football standout Cooper DeJean announced on Tuesday that he is launching a new cereal, with proceeds benefiting a very special place at the University of Iowa.
DeJean’s new breakfast cereal, called “Coop’s Crunch Cereal”, can be purchased at local-area Hy-Vee, Redner’s, and Dick’s Sporting Goods stores, as well as online. In addition to the cereal itself, a cereal bowl is also available for purchase on his website.
Proceeds from DeJean’s cereal support the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital that overlooks Kinnick Stadium.
DeJean’s website sells the specialty breakfast item in two-pack or twelve-pack options online, ranging from $24.95 to $119.95, while the Cooper’s Cereal Bowl costs $8.99.
DeJean enjoyed a magical rookie season with the Eagles. During Philadelphia’s Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs, DeJean intercepted a Patrick Mahomes pass and raced it 38 yards to pay dirt to give the Eagles a 17-0 advantage at the time. The Eagles would go on to win the Super Bowl, 40-22, to capture the franchise’s second crown.
DeJean tallied 51 tackles, six pass breakups, one forced fumble and three fumble recoveries during his first NFL regular season.
