Four-star power forward Quinn Costello announced his commitment to another Big Ten foe over the Iowa Hawkeyes on Tuesday. Costello was one of Iowa’s summer offers under first-year coach Ben McCollum,
The 6-foot-10, 195-pound native of Boston, Massachusetts, attends The Newman School. He is the No. 38 overall prospect, the No. 7 power forward and the No. 1 recruit in the state on the 247Sports composite.
Costello received offers from 28 other programs, including fellow Big Ten programs Wisconsin, Maryland, Illinois, Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue and Minnesota.
Costello committed to the Wolverines and coach Dusty May through an announcement on his social media platforms.
Considering Iowa was a long shot to land the top-30 prospect, not landing him can’t be held against McCollum and what he has been trying to create in Iowa City. Being within the group of talented suitors for Costello is still impressive given where the Hawkeyes program was six months ago.
