Boone County Supervisor Shawn Bryant triumphed over his fellow Republican candidate in the Boone County supervisor primary election.
Shawn Bryant, current vice chairman of the board, secured 54% of the votes cast to Wayne Lynch’s 44% in the Tuesday, June 2 election, according to unofficial results from the Secretary of State’s website.
No Democratic candidates filed and Bryant will run uncontested in the Nov. 3 general election. 1,923 total votes were cast on Tuesday.
Bryant’s priorities are to keep the levy rate low, protect the natural landscape and waterways, and attract new development and businesses.
Lynch has served on the Boone County Fair Board for over 25 years, and ran “with plans to strengthen our county by bringing common-sense values to the office; supporting people, projects and policies that put Boone County first.”
