In Pike Township on the northwest side, a cluster of office buildings and amenities form Intech Park, an unassuming but bustling neighborhood.
And, there’s more development in the area on the way, including a construction site at the corner of Intech Boulevard and Digital Way that has led some to ask:
What’s being built at 6725 Intech Blvd.?
The answer: A TownePlace Suites, built by Chicago-based Witco Lodging, will soon join the area, according to a building permit filed in September 2025. The 108-room hotel is going vertical on the northwest side near the 71st Street exit off I-465 and is tucked behind a strip mall.
The TownePlace Suites, part of the Marriott family, will join Intech Park, a large office development in Pike Township that opened in 1999. The development is what the state calls a Certified Technology Park. This designation applies to built environments where employees can work and spend time off the clock.
Intech Park is the largest certified technology park in the state.
The new hotel will not be the first in the area. A Home2 Suites by Hilton hotel sits about a block away. Nearby at 6650 Telecom Dr., local developer The Ghoman Group is converting an office building into a Hyatt Place with 150 rooms. The blueprints include a Bar Louie restaurant, which developers say they believe will be popular among office workers.
Most recently, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security occupied the entire Telecom Drive building but following the pandemic, the department moved out. Much of the space remained vacant as demand for office space dropped, developers said in city documents.
