It’s time for readers to pick the Herald-Times Preseason Boys Soccer Player of the Year.
Don’t forget to vote in the girls poll as well.
Readers may vote as much as they like until the poll closes on Friday, Aug. 21 at noon. Here are the nominees:
Liam Conlin, North, Sr. F
Had four goals last year and a great season in track as a hurdler. His height and athleticism will be tough to deal with.
Zion Crum, Seven Oaks, Sr. MF
One of three seniors back for the Firehawks and the top returning scorer with nine goals over 21 games the past two years.
Jasha Edgeworth, Edgewood, Jr. F
Striker had five goals and 10 assists in only nine games so staying healthy will be big this year.
Kade Gilchrist, Edgewood, Sr. MF
Buried an area best and school record 35 goals to top a 12-year-old mark. Also had a team best 12 assists.
Sebastian Gonzalez, Lighthouse Christian, Sr. MF
Scored 12 goals, including the lone playoff goal, and had a team best eight assists.
Griff Hengeveld, Eastern Greene, Sr. MF
Had a team high 19 goals (five in sectional play) to go with four assists.
Timothy Lautenbach, Lighthouse Christian, Jr. F
Lions are ready to turn the 6-foot-7 athlete and basketball standout loose this year after an eight-goal season.
Ethan Moffitt, Eastern Greene, Jr. MF
Second leading scorer for T-Birds with 10 goals and piled up a team best 10 assists.
Soloman Nardi, Owen Valley, Sr. F
Leading scorer for the Patriots last year with nine goals and five assists.
Arno Risner, North, Sr. MF
All over the field for the Cougars last year, scoring six goals with five assists.
Max Serafin-Odle, South, Jr. D
Followed up on strong freshman season, tying for the team lead in assists with eight. ISCA All-State honorable mention.
Andrew Wiley, South, Jr. MF
Last year’s H-T Player of the Year used his height to win balls all season, finished with 10 goals and four assists. ISCA All-State honorable mention.
