There were several standout individual performances across Southwestern Indiana this week. Who gets your vote?

Mount Vernon softball pitcher Alaina Allyn was voted the Courier & Press Athlete of the Week for April 13-18, presented by Orthpaedic Associates. The senior struck out 15 batters in a win over No. 3 Mater Dei and went 6-for-10 at the plate with a home run and four RBIs across three games (two victories) for the Wildcats.

Allyn received 12,728 votes from over 23,000 total cast this week. Mount Vernon is 9-1 (3-1 in PAC) following a win over Central on Wednesday. Brycen Mroz of Northeast Dubois was the runner-up at 5,270 votes.

Each week, you can vote for the Courier & Press Athlete of the Week, presented by Orthopaedic Associates. Below you will find the poll for April 13-18 and brief information on each performance. You can vote as often as you’d like until 10 a.m. CT Friday morning.

Brady Anderson, Vincennes Lincoln baseball: The senior was 5-for-11 with a home run, six RBIs, six runs, three walks and four stolen bases in four games. He also struck out seven in 5 1/3 innings during a win over Reitz.

Breann Harris, Tecumseh softball: The junior was 9-for-11 with five doubles and eight RBIs in three victories for the Braves — also allowed three hits in five innings of work against Pike Central.

Lila Hawkes, Jasper tennis: The sophomore helped the Wildcats sweep Reitz 5-0 in a Southern Indiana Athletic Conference match — making the move this season to No. 1 singles.

Dominic Hellberg, South Spencer track: The senior was selected the Tell City Invitational MVP after winning the 200-meter dash (22.88 seconds) and the 400-meter dash (Invitational record 49.99 seconds).

Jake Mazzier, Gibson Southern baseball: The senior pitched a no-hitter with one walk and 13 strikeouts in a 7-0 victory over Mount Vernon.

Lincoln Miller, Barr-Reeve golf: The sophomore was the medalist with an even-par 72 in rainy, wet condititions at Country Oaks during the Washington Invitational. The Vikings were the team champions with a 316.

Max Miller, Mater Dei baseball: The senior was 3-for-6 with a key run-scoring single in an 11-inning win over Castle and struck out five in three innings during another conference win over Central.

Ella Morton, Reitz softball: The junior was 5-for-5 with a double, four runs, two stolen bases and five RBIs in a victory over Harrison.

Brycen Mroz, Northeast Dubois baseball: The junior was 6-for-14 with a double, five runs and two RBIs in three victories — also pitched two scoreless innings to earn a save against North Daviess.

Maddie Rose, Castle softball: The junior was 6-for-9 with two home runs and seven RBIs in three victories for the Knights.

Kaiden Schmidt, Jasper baseball: The senior was 5-for-7 with two doubles and six RBIs in conference victories over Memorial and Harrison.
