Sullivan Fortner, Sean Chen and more past winners on American Piano Awards' 2025-26 season

A bevy of solo concerts, chamber recitals and jazz shows will fill out the American Piano Awards’ new season. From September through May 2026, former competition winners and laureates will perform at several venues in and around Indianapolis.

Among the visiting pianists will be newly minted winner Michael Davidman. In April, he won first place in the most recent iteration of the competition, which shifts between classical and jazz cycles every two years.

The American Piano Awards also will partner with other organizations, including the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, to present concerts where top musicians team up. In February, pianist Drew Petersen will perform with violinist Sirena Huang, who won the 2022 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis.
