Following Monday’s OTA practice, Shane Steichen provided an injury update on Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce.
During GM Chris Ballard’s pre-draft press conference, he mentioned that Pierce underwent offseason surgery on a lingering ankle injury.
Ballard added that Pierce should be back on the field for training camp.
“As of right now, it is,” Steichen said when asked if Pierce was still on track to return for training camp. “He’s rehabbing, doing his rehab program, and he’s doing really well with it.”
Pierce has led the NFL in yards per catch the last two seasons, but he has become a very well-rounded wideout, able to attack different levels of the field while doing so in a variety of ways.
Last season, Pierce eclipsed the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the first time in his career, along with hauling in six touchdowns. Now, in 2026, Pierce is being paid like a WR1 and is looking to produce like one.
Pierce signed a four-year, $114 million deal with the Colts during free agency.
