Summer is almost officially here, which means it’s time for area golfers to sign up for the first local ‘Major’ of the season.
The 30th annual Medalist Tournament will take place June 20-21 at Rolling Meadows and Cascade.
Signups are ongoing and continue until June 13, but golfers will earn some ‘special swag’ if they sign up before May 18. The field is limited to the first 88 to enter.
Entry fee is $40 for men’s senior, super senior (age 65+), and master super seniors, and just $10 for juniors and women. Venmo tourney organized by Rick Scherer at @Richard-Scherer-14 or mail a check to Scherer at 4074 W. State Road 45, Bloomington, IN 47403. Paid entries must be received by June 13.
Cart and greens fees for the round at Rolling Meadows are $35 or $22 for walking juniors. The fees at Cascades are $42 for non-season pass holders.
All divisions are flighted after the first round. Women will play just one round at Cascades.

City signups soon
Cascades Golf Course will begin signups for the 98th City Golf Tournament later this month.
The qualifying tournament for the Championship flights will be June 27-28, with the match play portion taking place July 11-12 and 18-19, as July 4 is on a Saturday this year.
Forms will be available in the Cascades Pro Shop.
