A seafood restaurant, with three locations already open throughout Central Indiana, is expanding to Carmel.
Slapfish will open a new, 3,300 square foot restaurant with an enclosed patio at the Market District grocery store, off North Illinois Street.
The restaurant will open later this year. Restaurateurs Mark and Lauren Weghorst plan to start renovating the space this summer, according to a news release.
“Opening our fourth location in our hometown is truly a full-circle moment for our family,” Mark Weghorst said in the news release. “This community shaped who Lauren and I have become, and it’s where we are raising our family now, so being able to bring our fresh menu and hospitality here means the world to us.”
Slapfish is known for its “boat-to-plate” seafood dishes, including the lobster roll and blackened grouper sandwich. All locations serve fast-casual seafood.
The first Slapfish location opened in Noblesville in 2019. Slapfish on Mass Ave in Downtown Indianapolis opened in 2020, and a third Slapfish location in Fishers opened in 2023.
