No need to put off the anticipation for four weeks anymore, let the fireworks begin in Week 1 with rivals Bloomington North and South now set to meet on opening day.
It’ll be the debut of new Cougar coach Andy Harding. South leads the all-time series 52-16 and is 9-3 against North since 2019.
Elsewhere, Edgewood will start at home on the red turf against a new opening day foe, Springs Valley. Those two last met in a four-game series from 1966-69 with the Hawks winning each time. Owen Valley will get the newest Troy Burgess Era started at home against former WIC foe Brown County and Eastern Greene has traded SV for Pike Central in its home opener. The visiting Chargers have lost 13 straight.
