RICHMOND, IN — The Richmond Police Department is actively investigating a shooting early Sunday morning on the northwest side of the city.
RPD said in a press release it responded to reports of a shooting in the first block of NW 17th Street, where responding officers found a victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was provided with emergency care at the scene and was transported to Reid Health in critical condition to receive further life-saving care, the release said.
Shortly after, the release said, a second victim with non-life-threatening injuries arrived at Reid Health in a private vehicle.
RPD said neither victim has been willing to cooperate with investigators and no witnesses have come forward, hindering the investigation. It added that detectives with the department’s Investigative Services Division are working on pursuing leads.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the department at (765) 983-7247.
