“I can confirm there is a criminal investigation being conducted by the Indiana State Police regarding an allegation of internal theft committed by a Delaware County employee,” Hoffman said. “Once that investigation is complete, it will be turned over to me for a formal charging determination.”

Hoffman said he could not “identify the target or targets of the investigation nor the specifics or the status of an official investigation.” Hoffman noted any “target of a criminal investigation is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.”
