Indianapolis-area native and Emmy award winner Aaron Waltke has been named showrunner for the Amazon Prime Video animated series “Wings of Fire,” Variety reported.
Waltke is also the co-writer and executive producer of the show, according to the report from Variety.

What is ‘Wings of Fire’?
“Wings of Fire” is a series of young adult fantasy novels written by Tui T. Sutherland.
There are 15 books in the main series, and the series has been adapted into graphic novels.
The books were first published in 2012 by Scholastic and have since sold over 27 million copies worldwide.
“Wings of Fire” as a TV series was first reported to be in development at Amazon in February 2024 after a previous version with a different creative team was scrapped at Netflix, according to reports from Variety.

Who is Aaron Waltke?
Waltke was born in Greenwood and graduated from Center Grove High School. He is also a graduate of Indiana University.
He is known for his work on Guillermo del Toro’s “Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia” (2016-2018), for which he won a Daytime Emmy for best writing for an animated series in 2018.
He is also known for the mini series “Wizards: Tales of Arcadia” (2020) and the show “Star Trek: Prodigy” (2021-2024).
