Out with the old, in with the new: Say hello to Colts' QB 'Indiana Jones'

Colts’ quarterback Daniel Jones has a new nickname to go along with his new home in Indianapolis.

Jones, formerly known as “Danny Dimes” during his tenure in New York, is starting to hear a different name thrown around Lucas Oil Stadium – “Indiana Jones.”

“I don’t really have a strong opinion on it,” Jones said with a grin on media personality Kay Adams’ morning show, Up & Adams. “I had some buddies in town this weekend, and they were all about it. They had bought some Indiana Jones T-shirts.”

While Jones is still hesitant about the nickname, his friends have hunkered down, recognizing the business opportunities Jones’ new moniker could bring.

“They want to start selling them now,” Jones said with a smile.

While it’s unclear if his new nickname will stick, Colts fans and Jones’ friends are embracing Indianapolis’ newest signal caller as he led the Colts to their best start since 2009.

In the Colts’ first two games of the season, Jones has completed over 71% of his passes for 588 yards at 9.3 yards per attempt.

According to PFF, in those respective categories, Jones ranks sixth in completion rate, second in yards, and first in yards per pass attempt.
