Notre Dame has fallen three spots to No. 9 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll after losing to Miami (FL) on the road, 27-24, Sunday night.
The Miami Hurricanes move to No. 5.
A three-spot drop is not catastrophic for the Fighting Irish, especially after a road loss to another top-10 team.
Miami was one of the biggest movers, at least in terms of moving up — the Hurricanes moved up five spots. LSU and Iowa State each jumped up six spots — the LSU Tigers jumped from No. 9 to No. 3 after beating Clemson.
Alabama suffered the biggest drop — the Crimson Tide dropped 13 places to No. 21. Texas did drop six spots to No. 7 after falling to Ohio State, which went from No. 3 to No. 1.
The top five is Ohio State, Penn State, LSU, Georgia and MiamI (FL). The rest of the top 10 is Oregon, Texas, Clemson, Notre Dame and South Carolina.
