New nonstop flights from Indy to seven destinations coming in 2026

For Hoosiers looking ahead to future travel plans, there are several new flights out of Indianapolis come 2026.

The Indianapolis International Airport had a big 2025, launching three new international flights, hitting record-breaking passenger numbers and recording the airport’s busiest travel day for outbound travelers on Oct. 9.

In another sign of its growth, the airport will welcome several new nonstop flights in 2026.

So far, Southwest Airlines, Frontier Airlines and Allegiant Air have announced new destinations, including one route to a Mexican city previously unserved in the Indianapolis market.

Southwest adds spring, summer break destinations

Southwest Airlines will launch new seasonal nonstop flights to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. The airline’s Cabo flight will operate March 5 to April 6 during the spring break travel period while the San Juan route will run during the summer months.

Cabo is the second city in Mexico serviced by seasonal routes out of the Indianapolis International Airport, while the new San Juan flight is the one nonstop option to Puerto Rico.San Juan is one of the top three most traveled to destinations that Indianapolis currently does not serve, Marsha Wurster, Indianapolis Airport Authority senior director of commercial enterprise, said when the flight was announced.

Cabo San Lucas

Start date: March 5, 2026

End date: April 6, 2026

Frequency: Once weekly on Saturdays to and from Cabo, seasonal

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Start date: June 6, 2026

End date: Aug. 1, 2026

Frequency: Once weekly on Saturdays to and from San Juan, seasonal

Frontier to launch four domestic routes

Frontier Airlines, a budget airline based in Denver, has the bulk of the new flights out of Indianapolis in 2026. The carrier will launch four nonstop flights, including one permanent route and three seasonal offerings.

Starting in March, Frontier will fly round-trip from Indianapolis to Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Fort Myers, Florida. Each flight will operate from two to four times a week, as follows.

Fort Lauderdale

Start date: March 6, 2026

Frequency: Three times a week, year-round

Las Vegas

Start date: March 24, 2026

Frequency: Three times a week, limited-time

Phoenix

Start date: March 24, 2026

Frequency: Four times a week, limited-time

Fort Myers, Florida

Start date: March 27, 2026

Frequency: Two times a week, limited-time

Allegiant to fly seasonally to Hollywood-Burbank

Budget airline Allegiant Air announced a new round-trip route from Indianapolis to the Los Angeles area via Hollywood Burbank Airport.

The new flight marks the airport’s only nonstop option to the Hollywood-Burbank airport and will run seasonally from May 22 to August 17. Flights operate twice weekly both ways on Mondays and Fridays.
