Indianapolis Colts Super Bowl 60 odds, AFC championship, NFL playoffs, matchups

As we reach the midpoint of the 2025 NFL season with Week 9, the playoff race is starting to take shape.

The Indianapolis Colts (7-1) hold the NFL’s best record, and oddsmakers have them as Super Bowl contenders.

FTNFanstasy.com’s Aaron Schatz gives the Colts a 98.2% chance to make the playoffs with a 56.9% chance to reach the AFC Championship Game, a 35.4% chance to make Super Bowl LX and a 19.0% chance to win it all. Only the Detroit Lions have better odds (19.1%) to win the Super Bowl.

Here are Schatz’s most likely Super Bowl matchups involving the Colts — with subplots/nicknames — starting with the Colts vs. the Lions, which tops his list.

Most likely Colts Super Bowl matchups

Malice at the Palace Revisited: 11.4%

The most likely matchup is the Colts vs. the Lions, but the nickname is a callback to Nov. 19, 2004, when Indiana Pacers players fought Detroit Pistons fans at the end of a chippy game between the teams.

Eric Dickerson Classic: 6.6%

If the Colts play the Los Angeles Rams, the Hall of Fame running back may have a tough time choosing sides. He played parts of five seasons with the Rams (7,245 rushing yards, 58 total touchdowns) and parts of five with the Colts (5,194 rushing yards, 35 total TDs).

The Colts’ only loss came in SoFi Stadium to the Rams in Week 4.

Matt Hasselbeck Classic: 5.2%

Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck played most of his 17-year career (1999-2015) with the Seattle Seahawks, but he finished with three seasons for the Colts.

The Colts visit the Seahawks on Dec. 14.

Tony Dungy Classic: 1.7%

The Hall of Fame coach has fond memories with the Colts and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He coached the Bucs from 1996-2001 before he was fired. The Colts scooped him up right away, and he led them to a Super Bowl championship and an 85-27 regular-season record over seven seasons.

DeForest Buckner Reunion Special: 0.7%

The star defensive tackle played his first four seasons with the San Francisco 49ers before the Colts traded for him in 2020. He has 71.5 career sacks, rare for a player usually positioned in the middle of the defensive line.

The Colts host the 49ers on Dec. 22.
