Environmental studies session at Wesselman Woods
Saturday at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. at Wesselman Woods. Sessions are $30 for the public and $25 for members and Indiana Master Naturalist alumni. Registration and additional details are available at wesselmanwoods.org/envirostudies.
As a part of Wesselman Woods environmental studies session, Levi O’Brien, a faculty instructor at the New York Botanical Garden and instructor at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, will be hosting two hikes this weekend.
Meet Your Neighbors: Tree Identification Hike at 10 a.m. O’Brien will guide attendees through tree identification via observation and exploration, according to Wesselman Woods.
Woodlore: The Cultural History of Trees at 1 p.m. In this session, O’Brien discusses how trees have shaped human history.
Library day at Howell Wetlands
Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Howell Wetlands, 1400 S. Tekoppel Ave.
Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library and Wesselman Woods are hosting a free day of activites at Howell Westlands on the city’s west side.
There will be self-guided hikes and crafts available throughout the entire event. Other specific events take place at the following times:
Downtown Evansville Sidewalk Sale
Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Main Street in Downtown Evansville.
The Downtown Evansville Improvement District will host its annual sidewalk sale Saturday. There will be more than 150 vendors lined up from Riverside Drive to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Evansville Anime Fest
Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton, 601 Walnut St. Kids 11 and under are free with a paid adult. Additional children are $10. Regular admission is $20. Tickets available online and at the door.
Evansville Anime Fest is a family-friendly event that will include trivia, opportunities to meet anime voice actors, lip sync contests and more. More information can be found at evansvilleanimefest.com.
