East Central Indiana high school baseball scores, top performers from May 5-10

It was another exciting week of high school baseball across East Central Indiana. Here are the scores and top performers for each Muncie-area team from May 5-10:

Teams are listed in alphabetical order.

Blackford Bruins (8-11)

Top Performance: Trenton Norton hit a double on his lone hit and scored three runs against South Adams. He also pitched six innings and allowed just one hit and five walks with six strikeouts.

Blue River Valley Vikings (9-6)

Top Performance: Kyler Keck hit a two-run home run against Seton Catholic and logged another RBI on a sacrifice ground out.

Cowan Blackhawks (8-7)

Top Performance: Chase Matson hit the walk-off winner against Winchester, popping a single into right field that allowed Thomas Brooks to score.

Daleville Broncos (7-8)

Top Performance: Bryson Sigler was a perfect 4-for-4 from the plate and drove in six runs against Indiana School for the Deaf.

Delta Eagles (11-7)

Top Performance: Zane Cline pitched a gem in Delta’s shutout victory over New Palestine. The senior pitched six innings, allowing three hits and three walks with nine strikeouts.

Jay County Patriots (6-10)

Top Performance: Leighton Brown had a strong day from his leadoff spot against South Adams, going 2-for-2 with four RBIs.

Monroe Central Golden Bears (10-11)

Top Performance: Isaac Middleton was dominant on the mound against Tri, racking up 11 strikeouts while allowing two unearned runs with just two hits and three walks.

Muncie Burris Owls (8-9)

Top Performance: It’s hard to pick one standout for Burris after a week where the Owls racked up more runs than any other team in the area. Soloman Muliira impressed against Daleville, going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and scoring twice.

Muncie Central Bearcats (4-17)

Top Performance: Logan Campbell had a productive day at the plate against Cowan. He went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, doubled on one of his hits, and was hit by a pitch twice.

New Castle Trojans (5-14)

Top Performance: Garren Mefford went 1-for-3 at the dish and scored a run against Fishers.

Shenandoah Raiders (13-3)

Top Performance: Ashton Renz went 3-for-3 at the plate against Tipton, including the walk-off RBI single.

Wapahani Raiders (12-5)

Top Performance: Nate Luce went 3-for-4 at the plate, scored twice, and logged two RBIs in Wapahani’s win over Hagerstown. The next day, Luce pitched a complete game shutout against Frankton.

Wes-Del Warriors (7-11)

Top Performance: Carter Wicker went 2-for-3 with a triple against Seton Catholic.

Winchester Community Golden Falcons (12-3)

Top Performance: Justin Cox went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run against Centerville.

Yorktown Tigers (9-10)

Top Performance: Cohen West was dominant from the mound against Wes-Del. The senior pitched a complete game, surrendering two earned runs on just one hit and four walks while striking out 12.
