Notre Dame football has won five straight games but must hope the cooler weather and a week off won’t slow their roll.
Like last season, the Fighting Irish have their backs against the walls in their quest to make the College Football Playoff again. After early losses at Miami (Florida) and against Texas A&M, many believe Notre Dame must win its final 10 games to have a shot at the CFP, and it is halfway there.
Now, those two losses were of the highest quality. Texas A&M (7-0) has not lost heading into a game Saturday night at LSU and is ranked No. 3, one spot behind Indiana, in the USA TODAY LBM coaches poll. And, though Miami (Florida) suffered its first loss Oct. 17, the Hurricanes (5-1) were ranked No. 9.
