Did Notre Dame make Joel Klatt’s October College Football Playoff bracket prediction?

With Notre Dame football stilling with a 2-2 record, and a ranking in the high 20’s in the major polls, it might seem like the College Football Playoff would be a reach right now.

Well, that isn’t the case with Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt, as the former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback released his October CFP bracket prediction and has the Irish ranked as his No. 11 team facing the Ole Miss Rebels.

It looks like if Notre Dame does make it to the field of 12-teams, it most likely won’t be hosting a first-round game due to the two losses suffered to Miami and Texas A&M, who Klatt also has making the field. The Hurricanes are his No. 2 seed while the Aggies are his No. 7.

Klatt has Ohio State as his top overall seed, followed by Miami, Oregon and Texas, each having the first-round bye. The only other interesting pick that Klatt has is South Florida, who he believes makes it in as the final team.

If Notre Dame were to advance to the quarterfinals in this scenario, they’d take on the Ducks, which would be a great matchup. Hopefully Klatt is correct, and the Irish win-out and make the College Football Playoff.
