The Indianapolis Colts (7-2) share the best record in the NFL just after the midpoint of the season. And they just made a huge deal to make a playoff push.
Colts general manager Chris Ballard — who rarely makes mid-season trades — has dealt two first-round draft picks to obtain cornerback Sauce Gardner from the New York Jets. Cornerback has been a problem area, primarily because of injury issues that started in training camp.
In his first eight years, Ballard made just one mid-season deal, sending running back Nyheim Hines to the Buffalo Bills in 2022 for running back Zack Moss.
We will have news, rumors and updates as the NFL trade deadline approaches at 4 p.m. ET Tuesday, Nov. 4.

Colts trade deadline rumors, news
Who has been linked to the Colts? Several defensive players, including three from the Cincinnati Bengals: pass rusher Trey Hendrickson, linebacker Logan Wilson and cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt.
It makes sense. Those players know Lou Anarumo, who was Cincinnati’s defensive coordinator for six years immediately before joining the Colts this season.
Will the Colts trade Anthony Richardson?
Anthony Richardson, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, is on injured reserve with an orbital eye fracture suffered before the Colts’ Week 6 game against the Arizona Cardinals. He’s eligible to return in time for their Nov. 23 game at Kansas City.
Daniel Jones beat Richardson in training camp for the starting quarterback position and has excelled, leading to suggestions that the Colts trade him to get a fresh start with a team looking toward the future. The Colts have said they don’t plan to trade him.
