Bloomington Transit has announced that it is suspending services Sunday, Jan. 25 as a winter storm sweeps through the region.
“The decision was made to ensure the safety of passengers, drivers, and road crews,” the agency said in a news release. “Heavy snow accumulation, ice, and high winds are expected to create unsafe travel conditions across the service area.”

“We understand that transit service is essential for many in our community,” John Connell, the agency’s general manager, was quoted as saying in the news release. “However, safety must be our top priority. Our team is closely monitoring road conditions and weather forecasts, and we will resume service as soon as it is safe to do so.”
A decision regarding Monday’s services will be made Sunday night. Once conditions improve, a restoration of service will be announced, the agency said.
