Big Ten Basketball Tournament second round live updates, scores

By the end of Wednesday, the 18-team Big Ten Tournament will be whittled to Thursday’s four third round games.

Tuesday’s opening round saw Maryland and Northwestern advance over Oregon and Penn State, respectively.

Maryland’s win set up a noon EST tipoff against Iowa to begin Wednesday’s second round. Games between Washington and USC, Indiana and Northwestern, and Minnesota against Rutgers, will follow.

2026 Big Ten Tournament second round, Wednesday March 11

Game 3: Iowa 75, Maryland 64

After the two teams split a pair of regular season games, the rubber match was decided by a big second half run by Iowa.

Maryland led 34-30 early in the second half before the Hawkeyes scored the next 21 points. Iowa advances to play Ohio State in Thursday’s third round.

Cooper Koch’s 19 points led Iowa and first-team All-Big Ten selection Bennett Stirtz scored 17 to go with 8 assists and 6 rebounds.

Game 4: Washington 83, USC 79 (OT)

Washington stormed back from a seven-point halftime deficit and had a chance to take the lead with 12 seconds left but Zoom Diallo’s jumper was off the mark, opening the door for USC to win the game. Kam Woods missed a jumper as the clock expired, sending the game to overtime tied at 71.

In the extra period, Washington went 4 of 6 from the field and sealed the game with a Hannes Steinbach free throw with two seconds left. Diallo finished with 22 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds for the Huskies, who play Wisconsin in Thursday’s third round. Woods led USC with 24 points.

Game 5: Northwestern 74, Indiana 61

Northwestern continued a hopeful Cinderella run by knocking off the No. 10 seed Hoosiers after running away in the second half. Indiana led 37-36 at halftime, but the Wildcats used the combination of Nick Martinelli and Jake West to win their second game in as many days.

Big Ten leading scorer Martinelli’s 28 points were a game high and West added 18, giving Northwestern a Thursday matchup with Purdue. Lamar Wilkerson led Indiana with 17 points.

Game 6: Rutgers 72, Minnesota 67

A big night from Tariq Francis sent Rutgers into a third-round matchup with UCLA.

Francis had 29 points and Rutgers rallied after trailing 52-51 with eight minutes remaining. Cade Tyson’s 24 points led Minnesota.
