Another major road closing on Evansville's West Side amid Lloyd4U work

There’s another construction-related road closure to report on Evansville’s West Side.

Red Bank Road will be closed north of the Lloyd Expressway starting Monday, Aug. 11, and the closure likely will last through Aug. 26, according to the Indiana Department of Transportation.

INDOT officials noted that for those 15 days, there will be no access from Lloyd Expressway to northbound Red Banl Road, and from southbound Red Bank Road to the Lloyd Expressway.

“During the closure, crews will work on curb and gutter, essential infrastructure, and grading in preparation for the future Displaced Left Turn (DLT) configuration coming in 2026,” INDOT said in a news release. “This work is similar to recent 30-day closures at Boehne Camp Road and Middle Mount Vernon Road. To cut the closure time in half, crews will work overnight to complete the work in 15 days, excluding any weather delays.

The project is part of the Lloyd4U project that’s riddled Evansville’s main artery with closures and orange barrels from the East Side to the Posey County line.
