Several IHSAA girls volleyball athletes shined across Southwestern Indiana last season, all with different contributions to the game.
Talented seniors in the SIAC and PAC from 2025 are no longer around. New faces will begin to emerge, and familiar faces will take on greater responsibility.
The end goal is a trip to Gainbridge Fieldhouse to hoist that coveted state championship trophy. But it is the exceptional area athletes that will make the difference for their respective programs along the way.
Princeton’s Alexis Kermode was voted the Courier & Press preseason player of the year. The senior outside hitter earned 16,040 votes (51.9%) from the near 31,000 poll participants. Through three matches, Kermode has eight kills for the Tigers.
Halle Recker of Jasper was the runner-up at 8,909 votes (28.8%). The senior setter has 90 assists and 10 aces for the 3-0 Wildcats this season.
