EVANSVILLE — The Indiana high school girls soccer season has arrived.
Southwestern Indiana is home to several of the top high school programs in the state. Many will be ranked in the coaches’ preseason rankings. Might we see one at Carroll Stadium in late October after nobody advanced beyond the regional last year?
To start the season, here is a look at 70 girls players to watch in the Courier & Press coverage area based on returning talent or potential impact for their respective team. This list, in alphabetical order, doesn’t include players confirmed out for the season with an injury.
Harper Anderson, North
The sophomore forward had seven goals and three assists for the Huskies.
Ava Aaseurd, Pike Central
The senior led the Chargers with 22 goals and 15 assists. First Team All-PAC.
Harper Atherton, Mater Dei
The senior midfielder had five goals and three assists for the sectional champions. All-City honorable mention.
Ellie Barron, Day School
The junior forward had a team-high 29 goals and six assists. Second Team All-City.
Kate Blessinger, Castle
The senior defender (one assist last year) is expected to help lead the Knights’ defense.
Avari Boeglin, Forest Park
The senior midfielder had three goals in seven matches for the Rangers.
Maria Bombelli, Jasper
The sophomore forward was a First Team All-SIAC selection for the Wildcats.
Arden Brames, Jasper
The senior forward was limited to six games with an injury but scored five goals. First Team All-SIAC.
Greyley Butcha, Northeast Dubois
The sophomore led the Jeeps with 17 goals and 28 assists. All-Blue Chip.
Jaycee Campbell, Mount Vernon
The senior defender had one assist for the Wildcats. Second Team All-PAC.
Brinkley Carroll, North
The sophomore defender had one assist for the Huskies. Second Team All-City.
Reese Condi, Mater Dei
The senior goalkeeper allowed only 0.89 goals per match with 32 saves while splitting duties last season.
Sophia DeKemper, Southridge
The sophomore midfielder had eight goals for the Raiders last season.
Kayla Delph, North
The junior forward had a team-high 20 goals plus seven assists. First Team All-SIAC and All-City. All-State honorable mention.
Hannah Dyer, Mater Dei
The sophomore forward had 16 goals and three assists last season. First Team All-City. Second Team All-SIAC. Transfer from Central.
Azaria Easley, South Knox
The sophomore had 11 goals and one assist last season. Transfer from Vincennes Lincoln.
Kendall Edwards, Gibson Southern
The junior midfielder had four goals and five assists for the Titans.
Alyssa Fendel, Mount Vernon
The senior goalkeeper allowed 2.27 goals per match with seven wins and two shutouts.
Elsa Gelarden, Heritage Hills
The senior midfielder had 11 goals and five assists for the Patriots.
Leela Gilmore, Vincennes Rivet
The senior forward had 11 goals and six assists for the Patriots.
Jeiry Gonzalez, Washington
The senior goalkeeper allowed only 0.50 goals per match with 48 saves and 10 shutouts. Second Team All-PAC.
Emma Griffin, Day School
The senior had one goal and six assists for the Eagles. All-City honorable mention.
Hope Happe, Memorial
The senior midfielder had five goals and five assists. First Team All-SIAC and All-City. All-State honorable mention.
Alexis Harris, South Spencer
The senior was a First Team All-PAC selection last year for the Rebels.
Norah Havill, Memorial
The sophomore midfielder had three goals and six assists. Second Team All-City.
Kinley Hawkins, Castle
The junior goalkeeper allowed 1.67 goals per match with four shutouts for the Knights.
Charlotte Hendricks, Castle
The senior forward had five goals and three assists for the Knights.
Kalia Wedeking, Central
The senior midfielder is the top returner for the Bears with seven goals and nine assists. All-City honorable mention.
Molly Kennedy, North
The junior midfielder had two goals and five assists for the Huskies. All-City honorable mention.
Katelyn Keusch, Northeast Dubois
The sophomore had 16 goals and 11 assists for the Jeeps. All-Blue Chip.
Katelyn Kippenbrock, Forest Park
The junior goalkeeper allowed 0.64 goals per match in backup duty — posted 11 shutouts the year prior.
Saige Kissel, Gibson Southern
The senior midfielder had six goals and four assists for the Titans. First Team All-PAC.
Ella Knepp, Washington
The senior midfielder had two goals and nine assists for the PAC champions.
Talynn Kratz, Memorial
The senior defender had two assists for the sectional champions. Second Team All-SIAC. First Team All-City.
Rene Kauffman, Reitz
The senior midfielder/defender had one goal and two assists. Second Team All-SIAC. First Team All-City.
Cora Lasher, Heritage Hills
The senior midfielder led the Patriots with 22 goals and added 12 assists. First Team All-PAC. All-State honorable mention.
Kalissa Lavely, South Knox
The senior midfielder had five goals and seven assists for the Spartans.
Trinity LeMond, Pike Central
The senior had three goals and seven assists for the Chargers. Second Team All-PAC.
Khloe Magro, Central
The junior midfielder had six goals and six assists for the Bears. All-City honorable mention.
Campbell Marshall, Southridge
The sophomore defender was a First Team All-PAC selection for the Raiders.
Izzy Marx, Mater Dei
The senior defender had one assist while leading the Wildcats’ backline. First Team All-City. Second Team All-SIAC.
Paige Memmer, Forest Park
The senior striker led the sectional champions with 19 goals and added four assists. First Team All-PAC.
Alyssa McCutchan, Pike Central
The senior had 13 goals and 13 assists for the Chargers. Second Team All-PAC.
Tanner Nelson, North
The junior defender had three goals for the Huskies. Second Team All-SIAC. First Team All-City.
Leah Owens, Washington
The junior forward scored a team-high 27 goals and added six assists. First Team All-PAC.
Hallie Peter, Evansville Christian
The senior had 18 goals and six assists for the sectional champions.
Violet Poag, Evansville Christian
The senior forward had six goals and one assist last season. Transfer from Castle.
Piper Powers, North
The sophomore midfielder had three goals and six assists. Transfer from Reitz.

The senior had 11 goals in the field and recorded 93 saves with six shutouts in net for the Patriots.
Ariana Stevenson, Harrison
The junior midfielder is the Warrior’s top returner with seven goals and nine assists. All-City honorable mention.
Bridgett Stine, Vincennes Rivet
The junior midfielder had 10 goals and 10 assists for the Patriots.
Chloe Stolz, Wood Memorial
The junior forward had 18 goals and five assists for the Trojans.
Caringtyn Sturgeon, Memorial
The senior forward had one assist in limited action due to a knee injury. Committed to Northwestern State.
Avery Tedford, Castle
The senior forward had five goals and five assists for the Knights.
Layla Thomas, South Knox
The senior goalkeeper made 141 saves with six shutouts for the Spartans.
Ava Voelkel, Memorial
The sophomore forward had seven goals and two assists. Second Team All-SIAC and All-City.
Lanie Wade, Reitz
The sophomore midfielder had three goals last season and could fill a scoring need for the Panthers. All-City honorable mention.
Emerson Walker, Gibson Southern
The senior midfielder had seven goals and five assists. Second Team All-PAC.
Lyla Wilson, Reitz
The senior goalkeeper allowed 1.89 goals per match with 81 saves and six shutouts. All-City honorable mention.
Sylvia Windell, Heritage Hills
The junior midfielder had eight goals and a team-high 15 assists. First Team All-PAC.
Lilly Woosley, Memorial
The junior midfielder had one goal and one assist. Second Team All-City.
Holly Wyland, Northeast Dubois
The junior had 11 goals and 10 assists for the Jeeps. All-Blue Chip.
Maelee Yount, North Posey
The senior led the Vikings in scoring last season. Second Team All-PAC.
