The NFL is the best reality TV show in the world. Every week, something new makes the audience unable to look away. No team is pulling away as the best.
There are a lot of good teams that people don’t know how to truly evaluate. Finally, the bottom of the league is playing hard every week. Our power rankings heading into Week 13 reflect the fact that every team can beat any team in any given week. There has been so much movement all season long as a result.
This is how each team stacks up heading into Thanksgiving week of the 2025 season:
The Contenders
1. Los Angeles Rams (Last Week: 1)
2. Philadelphia Eagles (Last Week: 2)
3. Denver Broncos (Last Week: 3)
4. Seattle Seahawks (Last Week: 4)
5. Indianapolis Colts (Last Week: 5)
6. San Francisco 49ers (Last Week: 9)
7. New England Patriots (Last Week: 7)
8. Detroit Lions (Last Week: 8)
9. Buffalo Bills (Last Week: 6)
10. Chicago Bears (Last Week: 11)
11. Green Bay Packers (Last Week: 14)
The Los Angeles Rams, Philadelphia Eagles, and Seattle Seahawks are clearly the three best teams in the NFC right now. Beyond them, it will be about who comes out of the NFC North playing the best going into the postseason. The Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, and Green Bay Packers are all alive in that regard, and they are all top-11 NFL teams.
How about the AFC? Are the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, or Indianapolis Colts for real? They are all in the top 10 of the power rankings, which is exciting for the league. However, will the usual suspects, such as the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills, or Baltimore Ravens, be left standing at the end?
Despite a bad three-interception performance by Brock Purdy on Monday Night Football, the San Francisco 49ers won and covered. They continue to find ways to win football games, much like the Bears, but with more pedigree.
Teams To Watch
12. Jacksonville Jaguars (Last Week: 12)
13. Los Angeles Chargers (Last Week: 13)
14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Last Week: 10)
15. Kansas City Chiefs (Last Week: 16)
16. Baltimore Ravens (Last Week: 15)
17. Houston Texans (Last Week: 20)
18. Pittsburgh Steelers (Last Week: 18)
All of these teams have quarterbacks who have been above average over the course of their careers. They also all have a belief that they should be a team that can make a run in the playoffs. They also all have something going on that is hard to pinpoint, but it is keeping them from reaching that elite tier for the time being.
For the Chiefs specifically, they have Andy Reid, and they have Patrick Mahomes. Together, their execution in situational football rivals Tom Brady and Bill Belichick for the greatest of all time in that arena. They may be in this tier, but nobody wants to see them on the other sideline in a playoff game.
A Lot To Prove
19. Dallas Cowboys (Last Week: 23)
20. Carolina Panthers (Last Week: 17)
21. Minnesota Vikings (Last Week: 19)
22. Atlanta Falcons (Last Week: 22)
23. Arizona Cardinals (Last Week: 24)
24. Cincinnati Bengals (Last Week: 25)
25. Miami Dolphins (Last Week: 27)
26. Washington Commanders (Last Week: 21)
27. New Orleans Saints (Last Week: 30)
28. Cleveland Browns (Last Week: 31)
29. New York Giants (Last Week: 26)
30. New York Jets (Last Week: 32)
31. Las Vegas Raiders (Last Week: 28)
32. Tennessee Titans (Last Week: 29)
The Dallas Cowboys, Carolina Panthers, and Minnesota Vikings are the three teams in this tier who could, in theory, claw their way out to possibly become a playoff team. The odds are stacked against them, largely their own fault, but there is still a chance.
The rest of the teams are vying for draft position. The Tennessee Titans have the best odds of making a second straight first overall pick, but a win for them down the stretch would put those standings in a blender. Right now, teams 22-26 are bad, but they are a tick above the ones lower on the power rankings. They all have a lot to prove, but there are a lot of truly struggling teams near the bottom.
