ODELL, IL — A familiar name in Odell’s restaurant scene is back in town with a new establishment.
Daniel and Mary Ann Hobart, of the former Hobart’s on Tremont in downtown Odell, are getting ready to open Hobart’s The Other End just a few blocks away at 210 S. Waupansie St.
A soft opening is planned for Aug. 4.
According to The Other End’s Facebook page, the new restaurant and bar will feature the salad bar that many folks remember from Hobart’s on Tremont, soups that have been perfected over the years by owner-chef Daniel Hobart and other town favorites like the ribs from the old Rentz’s Tap.
The Hobarts moved to Mississippi briefly after closing Hobart’s on Tremont, Mary Ann Hobart said.
The couple ended up moving back and after missing Hobart’s on Tremont, she and her husband decided to open a new place. The menu will be stacked with customer favorites from the Tremont days and some new additions. There will be a gluten-free menu, as well.
There are some things that will be missing in the first few weeks, such as steak will not be on the menu immediately. Also, the bar will not be open right away. Mary Ann Hobart said that for the time being, it will be a BYOB establishment for those wanting an alcoholic beverage with their dinner.
The soft opening will be at 11 a.m. on Aug. 4.
The Hobarts are hoping for the official opening to take place around Aug. 18.
Hours of operation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
The menu and specials can be found on the Hobart’s The Other End Facebook page. The phone number is 815-998-2859. The restaurant will offer pickup, as well as delivery service within Odell.
