County fair season is in full swing in northern Illinois. Check out some family-friendly carnival games or mouth-watering food stands, as well as pageants and farm exhibits.
Here’s a day-by-day schedule of upcoming county fairs schedule provided by the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
Some fairs already have taken place, such as Stephenson County and Ogle County, but many — including the popular Boone County Fair — will be held in the coming weeks. Mark those calendars.
2026 county fair schedule
New rodeo events coming to Boone County
New to the Boone County Fair fair this year are two fully sanctioned D&D Professional Rodeos on Aug. 15, at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Produced by D&D Pro Rodeo Company, both performances are part of the 2026 North American Shoot Out competition and will feature eight events, including bronc riding, tie-down roping, team roping, barrel racing, steer wrestling, breakaway roping, saddle bronc riding and bull riding.
The fair will open Aug. 11 with the Miss Boone County Fair Queen and Little Miss Pageant, with free grandstand admission for all attendees.
