Healthcare company closing Illinois pharmacy, laying off workers

A healthcare company is closing an Illinois business this month.

Optum Services plans to shutter the divvyDose pharmacy in Moline, leading to layoffs of 98 employees starting on Aug. 6, according to information provided to the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.

The company cited restructuring as the reason for the closure. Headquartered in Minnesota, Optum is a subsidiary of United Health Group and boasts 300,000 employees worldwide, according to its website.

The Journal Star reached out to Optum by telephone and email but did not receive a response.
