As the volleyball season gets set to tip off with games starting next week, it’s time to get familiar with some of the stars around the Rockford area.
How about 60 of them?
Games will begin across Illinois next week, including the NIC-10, the Big Northern Conference, and the NUIC. Last year, Stockton from the NUIC finished second in the state in Class 1A; Lutheran from the BNC took fourth in 2A; and Guilford won its first NIC-10 volleyball title in 29 years.
“It’s a new year, and it’s a new look for a lot of teams,” Guilford head coach Caitlin Seibert said. “A lot of senior stars graduated from the NIC-10 last year, and from all over Rockford. We’re going to see some new stars this year.”
Just last week, you voted for East’s Olivia Cirrincione as your Preseason Volleyball Player of the Year. She earned over 40 percent of the votes.
Now it’s time to throw out as many of the Rockford-area volleyball stars’ names as possible. Here are 60 volleyball stars to watch around the area this season:
