When is Plum Market opening in Palm Beach Gardens? 5 things to know

A new organic grocery store is coming to Palm Beach Gardens.

Plum Market is set to open its second Florida location — its other is in Aventura — at the Prosperity Centre plaza on PGA Boulevard east of Prosperity Farms Road in March. The market sells all-natural and locally sourced food and everyday products.

It has more than 30 locations across the nation — some of them in airports. Plum Market also plans to open locations at the Palm Beach International Airport in summer 2026 and spring 2027, according to its website. The first Plum Market opened in Bloomfield Township, Michigan, in 2007.

“We are thrilled to bring the Plum Market experience to Palm Beach Gardens and welcome guests from across Palm Beach County,” wrote Matt Jonna, Plum Market’s chief executive officer and co-founder, in a prepared statement.

“Our focus on local sourcing, with over 100 local brands, demonstrates our dedication to supporting the community and providing the freshest, highest-quality products.”

Plum Market chose to open a store in Palm Beach Gardens because it has received “a lot of organic interest” from the area, a spokesperson said. Its build-out will cost about $10 million and it plans to have a staff of 150 people.

Where is Plum Market located?

Plum Market is located at 2410 PGA Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens.

The storefront, which was formerly occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond, spans 30,000 square feet, which is about twice the size of a traditional Trader Joe’s.

What does Plum Market sell?

What sets Plum Market apart is its focus on goods from local sources. Its products and services include:

Who owns Plum Market?

Plum Market was founded by brothers Matt and Marc Jonna.

They are third-generation grocers who grew up working in their family’s stores which sold specialty products and wine.

Whole Foods later purchased their outlets. They worked for the Whole Foods national operations team before leaving to start Plum Market in 2006.

Is Plum Market organic?

Plum Market has a focus on selling organic goods, but it does not exclusively sell organic products.

“Plum Market’s decision to grow in Palm Beach Gardens reinforces the strength of this market and the draw of our neighborhood centers,” wrote Patrick McKinley, senior vice president of Regency Centers, developer of Prosperity Centre, in a statement.

“Their high-quality offerings and community-first mindset are exactly what we look for in an operator and what our customers expect from a Regency property.”
