From bowls, smoothies, sips and even hot foods, Everbowl has something for everyone.
Everbowl, which opened July 19, is located at 12889 U.S. 98 suite 108A in Miramar Plaza across from the newly opened Botanic Luxury Apartments.
Although Everbowl is part of a franchise, it is very much family run and operated.
“We are owner operators,” said Casie Cernat, who owns the restaurant with her husband, Laurentiu.
“We’re not a major chain. Yes, Everbowl is a franchise, but we are locally owned and operated. It is us. You’ll see us here, and if you see us here, say hello,” she said.
When people walk through the door, “We want them to feel the energy,” Casie said.
“We want them to know that we’re happy to be here and we’re happy that they are here. That’s most important to us … that everybody is here to have a good time,” she said.
In addition to having a good time, “We want to give superior service. We want to be remarkable. We want people to remember us,” she added.
On the menu
There’s plenty to choose from at Everbowl. And if you’d like to just taste something, just ask.
“We do free samples,” Casie said, noting the last thing they want to do is give a customer a whole bowl of something they didn’t want.
So, they offer free samples of all their bases, then comes the granola, fruit and other toppings.
“It all started with acai,” Casie said.
And the bases that Everbowl uses are “proprietary” to them.
“Everbowl did a really great job sourcing them naturally from Brazil and other partnering places because all of ours are dairy free and our granola is certified gluten free,” she said.
Everbowl puts the calorie content on the menu.
“You can customize almost anything,” she said, noting they can add protein powder, collagen, spirulina or turmeric.
So, it started on acai, now they have 11 flavors, including vanilla, chocolate, coconut, blue magic ― which is like a pina colada flavor ― mango, passion fruit, guava, pineapple and ube, which is from the Philippines.
“The ube is really light in taste, but super flavorful,” Casie said.
Everbowl has 11 bases, and nine signature bowls to choose from and a “whatever” bowl ― which means the customer builds it the way they want too.
After the base, comes the fresh fruit, then the drizzle. Drizzles to choose from include peanut butter, Nutella, almond butter, honey, agave and Balsamic glaze.
They offer three sizes of bowls: kids, medium and large.
“Anybody can eat a kids bowl … you don’t have to be a kid to eat it,” Casie said, noting sometimes people just want a treat.
They also have hot foods such as melts, wraps and dillas, which is like a quesadilla. They also have a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich.
Everbowl also has toast options such as avocado, bruschetta, or peanut butter crunch toast.
They also have a lineup of smoothies and sips, as well as cold coffee.
About the owners
Casie and Laurentiu Cernat moved to the area almost three years ago with their two children, Christian and Emilia, from Texas. Both children are involved in swimming; Christian is at Destin High and Emilia at Destin Middle.
“We used to have restaurants and bars in Texas … Fuzzy’s Taco Shop,” Casie said, noting it was a franchise, with 153 locations.
“We’ve done a mixed bag,” Casie said.
Casie is a hairdresser by trade, owning salons in Dallas for years, and Laurentiu has done cafes, delis and franchising.
“We love franchising because of the backing you get,” Casie said.
“In this season of our life, we’re not here to reinvent the wheel. We’re just wanting a really good brand,” she said.
“We chose the brand because we wanted a healthier, better option for our kids to fuel themselves,” she said.
Everbowl was started by entrepreneur Jeff Fenster in 2016 in San Diego.
“He opened 28 locations by himself,” she said.
In 2020, he began franchising them, and today there are more than 100 locations and still growing.
So, after the Cernats sold their restaurant portfolio in Texas in 2021, they took that money and started buying beach rentals. And now they are the owners of Everbowl in Miramar Beach.
“We came mainly for our beach portfolio and then our kids’ swimming. It is perfect for both,” she said.
“We just love people … it’s all about customer service and building relationships.
“You grow with people, and I think restaurants are like that too. We like people to come in and really get to know us, not just be like a quick option. We are putting our roots down,” Casie said.
Everbowl hours
Everbowl is open seven days a week.
“We started at 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day,” Cernat said. “But we quickly learned that people were at our door every single day at 9 a.m., so we open at 8 a.m.”
Everbowl is open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
“And we still have people waiting at the door,” she said.
“People rise a little bit early over here,” Cernat said.
“We’ve kind of done a slower open because I would rather give quality service time and time again … than open with the masses and give terrible service.
“I want to build a good rapport … we’re here to stay,” Cernat said.
