The softball programs have matched up 18 times throughout history, with the Seminoles prevailing in 17 of those. The most recent contest came just one year ago.
But never have they squared off here — in the NCAA Tournament. FSU will host the Hatters at noon on May 15, kicking off the Tallahassee Regional.
Both teams are fresh off league titles. Stetson stormed through the ASUN bracket as the No. 2 seed, capturing its sixth conference tournament title and first since 2014. The Seminoles handled business as the ACC’s top seed, claiming their 20th crown.
