UCF football hopes to stop its October swoon before it gets out of hand, something that’s derailed recent seasons. That’s likely a tough task today when the 3-2 Knights head to Cincinnati.
Their 27-20 loss last week to Kansas was UCF’s eighth in a row in October, a streak that includes the entire 2023 and 2024 calendars. Myles Montgomery, who transferred from Cincinnati before the 2024 season, continued his strong campaign with 110 rushing yards and two touchdowns. But quarterback Tayven Jackson again left with an shoulder injury, leaving Cam Fancher or Jacurri Brown likely to start.
The Bearcats are 4-1 after handing Iowa State its first loss of the season. Cincinnati runs for more than 205 yards per game behind dual-threat QB Brendan Sorsby and running backs Tawee Walker and Evan Pryor, who have combined for 905 yards and 10 TDs on the ground.

UCF vs Cincinnati predictions, picks for college football Week 7
Chris Boyle, Daytona Beach News-Journal
Cincinnati 35, UCF 20: “K-State got rolling in the second quarter as UCF’s offense sputtered. The Knights have to avoid three-and-out stretches if they stand a shot of pulling off an upset.”
Chris Vinel, Daytona Beach News-Journal
Cincinnati 31, UCF 20: “Cincinnati has proven it can score, with at least 34 points in four straight games, and Sorsby leads the way with his dual-threat abilities. Can UCF keep pace with a backup QB — or a banged-up starter?”
Ken Willis, Daytona Beach News-Journal
Cincinnati 35, UCF 20: “I’m afraid last week’s heartbreaker at Kansas will linger as a downer more than Cincy’s big win will perhaps usher in a letdown.”
Scott Springer, Cincinnati Enquirer
Cincinnati 35, UCF 21: “With UC scoring over 30 in all of their games but the Nebraska opener, I think the offense might have some more juice, particularly at home. I went 30-18 Bearcats in an interview earlier in the week, but upon further review, I think the ‘Pump It Up’ kickoff song gets a little more play.”
