The traffic signals for Center Road at Venice East Boulevard and at Rockley Boulevard south of Venice have been placed on a standard timing cycle by Sarasota County because of issues with newly installed detection equipment.

As a result, the lights are operating in a “recall” mode, which means they are cycling through all signal phases, even if no vehicles or pedestrians are present, according to a Sarasota County news release.
This “safe and temporary” measure may cause slight delays in the area.
Sarasota County workers are consulting with a contractor to resolve the hardware issue as quickly as possible.
