Trump to speak at Kravis Center in West Palm Beach. What to know

President Donald Trump is scheduled to speak at the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach on May 1.

The event runs from 6:15 p.m. to 8 p.m. and is hosted by the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches, a nonpartisan political and public affairs organization currently celebrating its 50th anniversary. Tickets cost $225 and are reserved for club members and one guest each.

Prospective members hoping to join in time to buy tickets will likely be out of luck. The Forum Club caps membership at 800 people and approves new members in August, December, March and June.

Sarah Elwell, Forum Club’s CEO, referred all questions about the event to the White House. Georgia O’Neil, a White House spokesperson, declined to say how many tickets are available, whether the discussion will be moderated, and if so, by whom, and whether attendees will have an opportunity to submit questions.

O’Neil also declined to say what guests can expect in terms of security at the event. Trump’s appearance at the Kravis Center comes less than a week after an armed gunman tried to storm the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

The Forum Club has drawn high-caliber speakers to Palm Beach County for the last five decades, including former President Jimmy Carter, Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and, just last year, former Vice President Mike Pence.
