Three trauma-alerted after motorcycle, two cars crash south of FMB

Three people were rushed to the hospital over the weekend after a two cars collided head-on and a motorcycle rear-ended one of them, authorities say.

The wreck happened in the area of Hickory Boulevard near Little Hickory Island, according to the sheriff’s office. Authorities announced the crash just before 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, one of the two cars crossed the center line, striking a second car. A motorcycle with two occupants then rear-ended the second car.

Both people on the motorcycle, as well as the driver of the car that crossed the center line, were flown to hospitals.

A Feb. 7 post from the sheriff’s office on X said that all lanes of Estero Boulevard were closed at Hickory Boulevard near Little Hickory Island.

The roadblock caused a stir of emotions among drivers.

Some motorists reported on social media that they were stuck for hours or were turning around and taking the alternative route to get onto Estero Island from the north.
