A small brush fire that was contained has reignited in Martin County, Fire Rescue officials said.
Firefighters went about 6:30 p.m. June 23 to a small brush fire near 100 Southwest Citrus Boulevard, near the St. Lucie-Martin county line, said Fire Rescue spokesperson Jillian Kay.
They contained the fire, but a few small spots reignited just before 8:30 a.m. June 24, Kay said. It was a slow-moving, 2-acre brush fire that wasn’t a threat to any nearby structures, she said.
Plus, Kay said, firefighters helped Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and the Florida Forest Service with a 100-acre brush fire that started just after 1 a.m. June 24 in the John G. and Susan H. DuPuis Jr. Wildlife and Environmental Area.
The majority of the fire was in Palm Beach County, she said, and no structures were in danger.
