Sarasota County Schools celebrate February Students of the Month

The Sarasota Herald-Tribune continues its recognition of academic excellence, leadership and community service in Sarasota County through its “Students of the Month” program.

For February, we are highlighting four more exceptional students – from Riverview and Booker high schools – who demonstrate a profound commitment to their studies, their extracurricular passions and the betterment of their community.

The students were nominated for recognition by school officials from throughout the high schools with Sarasota County Schools.  

This ongoing recognition is being sponsored by the Hale Law. Each month, selected students will be profiled in the printed newspaper and prominently featured on our news website. There is no cost to the schools or students to participate.

Schools in the district submitted outstanding students for consideration based on three key criteria:

Riverview High School: leadership and science

At Riverview High School, two seniors have been recognized for their ability to balance high-level academics with competitive athletics and significant community involvement.

Brooke Rogers

Brooke Rogers, a 12th-grade student in the rigorous International Baccalaureate (IB) program, holds a stellar 4.75 GPA. Rogers has successfully balanced her demanding coursework with a long-term commitment to both varsity indoor and beach volleyball.

Isaiah Belt

Senior Isaiah Belt is a well-known leader at Riverview, recognized for his kindness and his ability to inspire others. He has maintained a 3.7 GPA with a history of “A” and “B” grades.

Booker High School: academic excellence and creative mentorship

Booker High School celebrates two students who have excelled in specialized programs while taking on pivotal leadership roles within the school.

Alix Leinweber

A 12th-grade standout, Alix Leinweber boasts a 4.9 weighted GPA. She is a dual participant in the Cambridge AICE program, where she has already earned her AICE Diploma, and the Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) Music Department.

Chloe Truewell

Junior Chloe Truewell represents the next generation of leaders at Booker High. With a 4.4 weighted GPA, she is active in both the Cambridge AICE and Law programs.
